What is Quorra
Quorra is a household executive assistant — a single, conversational AI that helps everyone in a household keep life organized. You talk to her the way you’d message a capable, discreet assistant: “log $40 of groceries,” “what’s on the calendar Saturday?”, “find the photos from the lake trip,” “remind me what oil the car takes.” She handles the request and remembers what matters.
What makes Quorra different isn’t what she can do — plenty of assistants can do these things. It’s where she does it. Quorra runs entirely on Junc, a small server that sits in your home. Your messages, your documents, your photos, and the AI model itself never leave the house. There is no cloud account, no third party reading your data, and no subscription metering your questions.
What she helps with
Quorra is one assistant in front of many services:
- Finance — log transactions and ask about spending in plain language.
- Documents and notes — file, search, and recall from a household knowledge base.
- Calendars and contacts — schedule, look things up, keep track.
- Photos — find pictures by who’s in them, where, or when.
- Media — request movies and shows, and ask what’s worth watching.
- Messaging and coordination — reminders, notifications, household logistics.
The guiding principle is conversation-first: anything you’d normally do by opening an app, you should be able to do by asking Quorra. The apps stay available for browsing and visual review — but you shouldn’t need them for routine things. The service apps are a second stop — useful for visual browsing and complex editing, but Quorra handles the routine so you rarely need to open them.
Principles that shape her
- Local-first. Data stays on Junc by default. Any cloud connection is thin, explicit, and individually optional.
- Privacy by architecture. “Your data stays home” is true because of how the system is built — not because of a policy that promises it.
- Legible memory. Quorra remembers facts about your household, but you can see, edit, and delete everything she knows. Nothing is hidden.
- Asks before acting. Reading information is free. Small changes are made and reported. Anything destructive, or anything that leaves the house — sending a message, making a purchase — waits for your explicit confirmation.
- Removes the right friction. Quorra takes over the tedious parts — opening apps, searching manually, typing entries. She leaves the meaningful parts alone: the decisions, the confirmations, the choices that should stay yours.
- A household, not a user. Quorra is built for multiple people from the ground up. Everyone gets their own private context; the household shares what it chooses.
Quorra and Junc
Quorra is the software — the intelligence and the assistant. Junc is the appliance she runs on: a home server that also hosts your file storage, photo library, media, and messaging. Quorra is the layer that ties them together into something you can simply talk to. The hardware, and the longer-term vision of a network of these home servers, are described in the Junc section.
Where the project stands
Quorra is in active development, and honest about it. Conversational chat, household memory, and finance are working today; more service integrations are on the way. The milestone tracker is the current source of truth, and How it works explains the design.
