Service — Nextcloud
What it is
Nextcloud is a self-hosted file storage and collaboration platform. On JUNC1 it is the primary store for personal files, documents, notes, contacts, and calendars — replacing cloud services like Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox.
For Quorra, Nextcloud is one of the most important integrations: it holds the documents that become her retrievable knowledge base, and the calendar and contacts she’ll manage conversationally.

APIs
Nextcloud exposes several APIs Quorra will use:
- WebDAV — file access (read, write, list, move, delete)
- CalDAV — calendar access (read/write)
- CardDAV — contacts access (read/write)
- OCS / REST — user management, sharing, app-specific endpoints
Authentication for integrations uses a dedicated app password rather than the main account password.
Obsidian vault
Kurt’s Obsidian knowledge vault syncs through Nextcloud — the vault lives in a Nextcloud-managed directory and is opened directly from there on all devices (Mac, iOS, iPad). This is the same storage that becomes Quorra’s knowledge base.
Quorra integration
Planned. Nextcloud is deployed and running; the Quorra integration (file search and filing, calendar, contacts, and document ingestion for retrieval) is designed but not yet built. See Quorra’s service integrations reference for the integration design.
Notes
- A dedicated app password should be created for Quorra’s integration.
- File indexing for retrieval should respect any folder the user marks private.
- Large binary files (video, audio, raw images) should be excluded from text indexing by default.
