Service — Home Assistant

What it is

Home Assistant is a self-hosted home automation platform. It connects to smart home devices, sensors, and services, allowing them to be monitored and controlled from a single interface.

On JUNC1, Home Assistant is intended to be the bridge between Quorra and the physical environment — lights, thermostats, locks, sensors, and any other connected devices in the home.

Location

  • URL: http://localhost:8123
  • Container: homeassistant
  • Config: ~/data/home/home-assistant-config/
  • Timezone: America/Denver

API

Home Assistant provides a comprehensive REST API.

  • Base URL: http://localhost:8123/api/
  • Auth: long-lived access token (set in the HA user profile)
  • Key endpoints: GET /api/states, GET /api/states/<entity_id>, POST /api/services/<domain>/<service>, GET /api/events

Quorra integration

Deferred. Home Assistant is running, but there are few smart-home devices on JUNC1 today, so the Quorra integration is intentionally postponed. The first real driver is expected to be PoE security cameras; the Quorra integration will follow from there. See Quorra’s service integrations reference for the planned design.

When built, read-only state queries will be Tier 0; device control will be Tier 1 and confirm before acting.
